The City of Osijek is the administrative centre of the Osijek-Baranja County and is located in the east part of the Republic of Croatia.
It is a city of exceptional cultural, historical and gastronomic richness, and for that reason we recommend that all visitors during their visit to this part of Croatia spend their time exploring the beauties and special features of the City on the Drava, as its inhabitants like to call it.
The Baroque Tvrđa, the Holy Trinity Square, the Water Gate and the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul (co-cathedral) are just some of the sights that have been attracting attention for centuries.
Another peculiarity of Osijek is its longstanding connection with gymnastics. In 1865, the oldest gymnastics clubin Croatia, “Pervo Društvo Gombalacah” was founded in Osijek, whose traditional heirs still successfully run a large number of sections of recreational and top gymnastics today.
With 11 years of FIG World Challenge Cup organization, Osijek boasts the existence of the most modern gymnastics facility in the region (Sokol Centar), which really justifies Osijek as the “gymnastics city”.
